Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I had a guy doing some work for me on a mobile home I own in CA. He told me back in Nov. 2009 thqt there was black mold. I had him rid the place of the mold. There are no pictures or any physical proof of black mold. Now he is telling me that he got some in his eye and will lose his eye (no pictures or proof that it happend at my mobile home). I am thinking he wants me to pay for his injury even though he knew of the health problems that black mold can do, and he did not take precautions ( face mask or goggles as evey web site I have seen says to do). Would I have to pay for his not taking such precautions? I an thinking that I should not have to give him anything because it was his own fault for not taking precautions prior to eradicating the black mold. I did not put the mold there and I did not tell him not to wear goggles. He is an employer and I am thinking that he was not working on the place at all.
