Now I don't have inssurance and I would like to know what would happen to me if the person I was involved in the accident with sue me?? I don't have anything to give to him! If you are sued, and lose, the other driver will have a judgment against you for the amount of damages resulting from the accident. The other driver will then be able to levy on your bank accounts, and garnish your wages. While you can file objections to levies and garnishments, your employer and bank may still have to send appropriate amounts to the creditor.

Your insurnace company must give you proper notice before cancelling your insurance.

You may be able to convince adverse not to sue you if you have no money; otherwise might consider bankruptcy if the damages are large enough.

In addition to what the other attorneys state, you also have to file a form with the DMV if there were personal injuries, or property damage exceeded a certain amount. Because you did not have insurance, you could face suspension of driving privileges.
