Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Held in jail too long

On an August Thursday night I was picked up on a warrant stemming from a drivers license citation.

On friday @ 3:00pm I went to court and pled guilty. I was ordered to try and clear up the license with the DMV and return to court in November for sentencing. I asked the judge (twice) if I would be released today or have to post bail. Twice he said ''I'm releasing you today''.

I was then back in the jail awaiting release. At @4:30pm I asked a guard about the release. He found out that there was no notation on the court papers that indicated any release. It didn't even state to remain in custody.

Since this was Labor Day weekend, I was told I would have too wait till Tuesday untill the courts reopened.

On Tuesday morning I was released without any further questions.

I,m a freelance photographer and lost a lot of business over that weekend.

What are my options?
