Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Hello,
I am a French intern with a J1-Visa.
Yesterday, I was in a nightclub in San Francisco. There is a 5 feet stage in the club where people can dance on it. I was dancing on it not far from the edge when somebody pushed in the back... I heavily fell on my back. I manage to stand up but soon had to sit as the pain was really bad. I had a small loss of feeling in my right leg and so was really scared of having something bad. A bouncer/medic from the nightclub came and had a look. He did not call an ambulance and my friend had to bring mo to emergencies to check my back.
There, I had xrays and test and they said I should be ok (nothing is broken). They said me the nightclub should have called an ambulance. The police came but I was in the xray room when they arrived and they could not stay long as they had an emergency.
I called my Visa sponsor to report that. My insurance will call me tomorrow (Monday). I will probably have to pay a few hundreds dollars of copay...
I do not really know what I should do. I am really surprised there was no security "fences" on the stage and the fact somebody pushed me disturbs me.
Thanks,

You may be successful with a lawsuit, depending on how serious your injuries are, but you would be also charged with contributory negligence for dancing so close to the edge. Plus you were probably drunk off your ass.
