Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

HI,

I hit an older model honda accord with my rear tire. It did not scratch the car but left a tire mark across front bumper. I got to quotes, the lower one for $639. He just wants me to write him a check for $639 and he says he'll take it in when he has time. I want him to get it fixed and I will pay the bill. Do I have to give him the money? Or, can I force him to get it fixed?

Thank You

Patrik

You cannot force him to get it fixed, but you may want to get a RELEASE of liability and satisfaction for your payment.

If you have insurance let them deal with it.These private pay arrangements can get problematic real quick. If you do pay him privately make sure you get something in writing releasing you from any further liability for the car and or any injury
