Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Hi,ive been involve in car accident almost last 2011.i was with my 2 yr old son.i bring my son to emergency room after that jst to check him.and his perfectly fine.i got a lawyer for that and everything was settled already.last nov 2012,i got a phone call from the hospital that i have outstanding balance of $150 something.and they said they my lawyer didnt return their call thats why they call me.and i recieved a phone call today threathening me that they would send it to collector agency.am i gonna be resposible for that payment?tnx!

More than likely, yes. Unless the hospital had a lien against your case, the attorney was not obligated to pay that bill, although the attorney should have told you that so that could have been part of your calculations in agreeing to settle. Your attorney might be able to negotiate with the hospital to reduce that bill, though, or you might be able to do so, as well.
