Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I was hit by a unlicensed uninsured driver who was ticketed for running a red light. His vehicle was borrowed from another individual and didn't have insurance on the vehicle. Who can I seek damages from? Driver? Owner? or Both?

The owner of a vehicle is liable for up to $15,000 of the damages. Since he probably knew that the other driver was unlicensed, he can also be sued for "negligent entrustment" which has no cap on the damages. So sue both of them, but they probably have no assets so it will be difficult to collect anything from them. If you suffered any physical injuries, had any wage loss or medical bills, etc, if you have uninsured motorist coverage you can make a claim for reimbursement to your own insurance company.
