You may in fact be entitled to very substantial compensation. To be sure, the facts of the accident have to be reviewed very carefully. You should call immediately to discuss the case. How awful. I'm so sorry for your loss.
You may indeed have a claim, but not necessarily. Whether you do will depend on the facts. You should consult with a qualified attorney directly so that she can learn what happened and explain your rights. In fact, you may want to consult with more than one. Most lawyers would not charge you for the initial consultation.
Good luck.
Depends on the facts and circumstances. You are welcome to call for a free consultation.

As mentioned by other attorneys, the facts of the accident must first be carefully reviewed. Should there be negligence on the part of railroad you and your kids will be entitled to significant compensation. Sorry for your loss.

This such a sad situation for you and your children. As the other responses suggest, the right to recovery (and such a loss would be significant) must be determined by details/facts of how tragic incident occurred. Was your husband a passenger? The law requires the highest duty of care for common carriers of passengers and a light rail is a common carrier. If the light rail driver/operator violated any rules or procedures this would certainly create liability. Without knowing your husband's status (meaning whether he was on the train) makes it difficult to say what duty was owed to him. If there was a failure of a system that lead to a collision with another vehicle that he was occupying may also create liability. Regards. Robert Worth,. [email protected]
