Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

So say hypothetically I'm driving and I have a passenger with me. We get into a car accident and my passenger is injured, but the accident is entirely the other car's fault. If the other driver doesn't have insurance and can't afford to pay my injured passenger's medical bills etc, could my passenger or the family of my passenger sue me?
