Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
I was injured on a cruise ship and required surgery and a 12 day hospital stay. Do I have any legal rights?

Yes, you do. You may have an excellent personal injury claim, although like any case, the details can make a big difference. You should discuss your case with an experienced personal injury attorney; almost all offer free case evaluations. Avoid talking to others about the facts of your case. This is especially so for the company or its insurance carrier.
Assessing the value of an injury claim depends upon the facts of how your injury occurred, clearly haw severe you were injured, the extent of the any long term/permanent impact there is and how long ago this all happened. As in any case, there is always s statue of limitations for the life of s claim and if the time is running out a lawsuit in the proper jurisdiction must be filed to protect the claim or your fights may be waived. As the prior answer suggests, you should seek out the advice of an attorney and avoid providing the cruise line’s, (or other negligent party’s), insurance adjuster with a recorded statement of the facts. It is generally not in your best interests to do so. I hope this helps.
