Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
my insurance payment was late when I was in an accident about 5 years ago. My insurance didn't cover me. Now my license was suspended until I pay. Can I go bankrupt on this issue?

Yes, you can file for bankrutpcy and discharge the debt and the DMV will give you back your license upon proof that you now have insurance. You need to file an SR22 form given to you by your insurance company. If you were driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the acciden happened and someone was injured then the injured person may oppose your discharge of the debt by filing a lawsuit against you in bankruptcy court that is called an adversary proceeding.
