Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

i was involved in an accident, the other driver hit me after running a red light. He doesn't have insurance and i have only liability coverage on my property. Yet, i don't have uninsured motorist coverd. what should i do, i've towed my car to a mechanics and still wait for the police report

If the repairs are $7500 or under, you can sue in small claims court. I assume you weren't hurt, since you didn't mention it. You don't need the police report for small claims, although it could be a plus if it's favorable to you. Bring witnesses with you. Don't rely on written statements as the court probably won't consider them. Bring photographs, diagrams, etc., to explain your case visually.
