Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Can I or my Job be held responsible?

I work at an afterschool care place. After a special event had ended the staff and volunteers were cleaning up, and I left to buy them some food. Some of the kids were hanging around and playing. Through out the day we kept warning them to stop running and horse playing. When I was gone, one of the kids hit an adult friend of theirs who also is a volunteer with a small soda bottle, and started running out the door. The other kids started to run with this kid. At that moment the adult picked up the bottle and threw it out the door in their direction, and it hit one of the kids that was playing around. The adult did not want to harm the kid but they got cut. I want to find out if either myself or the company can be held liable.

Re: Can I or my Job be held responsible?

You never know what a jury will do with a case like this. it could go either way. I would say in my opinion the case against you and the school is very weak. You are responsible for supervising the kids, you are not responsible for the unforeseen criminal actions of their adult friend.
