What kind of lawyer do I need to put someone in jail for assault and to get retribution?

You can sue the other person for assault/battery if you were harmed and perhaps obtain a money judgment. You may go to the police if you want to make a citizen's arrest. However, don't wait too long going to the police -- if that's what you want to do -- because claims become stale.
