Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I live in Ventura County, California. My dog has bitten my five-year-old granddaughter twice. He normally is not aggressive, but he is very fearful. I either need to find him a new home or have him euthanized. If I give him to a new owner, letting them know about the bites and that he shouldn't be with kids, am I also liable if he bites someone under their care? I've been told that I could be sued as the previous owner, by either the current owner or the person who got bit.

Any liability if you advise of his fear of kids would be very difficult for someone to prove IF you no longer own the dog or advise of his fear around kids. Do NOT have him euthanized. You can find a home without kids or find a rescue group to help you find one. You can also take him to training and maybe arrange to have him separated from the grandchild whom he fears.
