Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

is a loan co. liable for acident

hit by drunk driver no license, no insurance- arrested him and his truck was put in 30 day impound. Two weeks prior to hitting me, the same driver was involved in same (dui, no license, no ins and an impound for 30 days placed on the same vehicle.) The finance company got the truck out after 3 days and gave it back to him. My question is the finance company liable for his accident with me as they violated the 30 day impound first place on the vehicle.

Re: is a loan co. liable for acident

Possibly, but unlikely. Unless you can prove that the finance company knew that he was an alcoholic and had several convictions prior to giving the car to him. Another possibility may be that lender was negligent in giving control of the vehicle to an unlicensed driver. Suing him is only financially viable if there is a source of funds from which you can obtain payment. Contact an attorney about representing you in this matter.
