How long can an attorney hold on to monies received for a personal injury settlement before diusbursing it

After resolving all the possible liens [medical bills, etc.] and gettling all the settlement paperwork finished, the attorney must dlisburse the funds within a reasonable period of time, whilch is probably a week or two. If you have not received the money yet, immeditely cal lthe attorney and find out what is happening and whether the funds have been placed into a client security fund account or are they improperly in one of his business or personal accounts.

I agree with the above answer. Make an appointment with the attorney to go over a disbursement ledger of the entire settlement and get your approval. The bank should not put a hold on the settlement draft for over 10 days.
