However, your statement does not indicate whether Mom was driving, or a pedestrian.

There are a myriad of questions still to be answered, but do NOT talk to the insurance company, nor its claims representatives, adjusted, lawyers, etc. They are not your friends.

You should retain an attorney. The insurance company is not looking out for your best interest. It is only looking out for the best interest of itself. If she is still in the hospital, there may not be enough insurance to cover her injuries or adequately compensate her.

Based on the limited information provided, your mother may be entitled to workers' compensation benefits if her driving the car was an act arising out of the course and scope of her employment. Do not give the insurance company a statement, do not sign anything. Make sure she gets all the medical care she needs after she leaves the hospital. Get a doctor to authorize the time that she takes off work. I would recommend that you hire an attorney. Give me a call.
