Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Moving Services

My son recently relocated to Georgia from California. He hired a moving company to move his personal property (bike, t.v., clothes, etc.). Driver made it to Texas but did not make delivery in Texas--company tried to reach driver and driver is missing--has not called and company will be filing missing persons report with police. What is my son's legal recourse?

Re: Moving Services

I assume the moving company was from the Bay Area (your zip code is Pacifica). Hopefully, it is a national company, and not local.

I assume that there is still a copy of the contract your son signed with moving company. Read it, and see what liability there is for a company. If possible, scan it, or fax it to me, or take it to a local attorney.

And what does "will be filing" mean? If they have a driver missing with a loaded moving van, why are they waiting?

The legal recourse would be to sue the moving company, but also to file a police report locally.
