Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I have a neighbor with barking dogs. Not constant barking but sporadic, random barking all day, by four different dogs. Two letters to owners hasn't helped. The county will only get invovled if two neighbors complain, and all the other neighbors either have dogs themselves, or aren't home during the day. If I want to prepare for a lawsuit, am I safe in videotaping the neighbor's back yard to get the dogs on record? Or is it an invasion of privacy?

If you are recording sights and sounds that are viewable and audible to you from your property, without taking any extraordinary measures (Like standing on a ladder or climbing a tree), I doubt that you would be invading the neighbor's privacy. (Besides, if your videotaping is solely of the dogs, you should be okay--I have never seen a case granting a dog privacy rights.)
