Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Oral contract to have repairs and improvements performed to a "former" friends rental house. Paid amount owed, then stopped payment on check .Sent an E mail stating, need the bills in format for accountant (spread) sheet...then I will send check to the address on Statement. Now refuses stating,,I did not want this work done.

Unless you're a licensed contractor, you are entirely out of luck California law is very strict that you are not entitled to any payment for work on buildings that you don't have a license for. If you are a licensed contractor you should know that your contract was a violation of the Business and Professions code for not being in writing and in several other respects.
