Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I have a personal injury case that is at the end but my attorney has not included all my bills but yet wants to close and end my case, telling me this is the best that can be done. Am I to just settle and not get everything paid for?

There are several things that might be going on: 1) your attorney might just want to pay the providers who have liens; 2) the insurance policy limit is at the amount that your attorney is suggesting you settle; 3) you might have treated longer than a "reasonable" person with similar injuries would have treated and therefore incurred higher-than-usual medical bills; 4) the defendant is not willing to go any higher and your attorney is weighing the possibility of a jury awarding an even smaller amount, depending on the facts of your case.

Don't forget that medical providers often are willing to reduce their bills to facilitate a settlement. I would think that your lawyer will work on that as well, so that you could have some funds to pay your other medical providers. Good luck to you!

Without knowing more facts it is impossible to give you any guidance. The following facts are need to give you an intelligent answer. What type of incident caused the injury, what is the injury, what are the medical bills, how much coverage is there and what is the offer?

I would suggest that you re post your question with these additional facts if you want a second opinion as to what your lawyer is doing for you.

Good luck.
