If you are injured at a resturaunt due to negligence on their part, are they required to compensate you for the medical bills etc.?

You have to prove your case. If you prove your case, you are entitled to damages. However, they can dispute your claim and dispute that they are responsible. You should probably consult with an attorney about the details of your particular case.
