Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Question about liability of the accident

I was recently involved in an accident where I was t-boned in the middle of an intersection, however, it happened during when the traffic lights were out. Three parties were involved including myself and one of the insurance companies serving the main car that hit me notified that I was 100% to blame. I don't understand how this could be the case given the information, but that's how it was concluded. I spoke to my insurance claims representative and he stated that it would most likely be a 50/50 liability.

My main question is do I have any available recourse in the situation and should I settle with the 50/50 liability or should I fight it? I am really lost at this point and would appreciate any legal advice.

Thank you to whomever answers my question.
