Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Rear End accident No report and is over $500

I was involved in an auto accident. I was at a red light, the car in front of me pulled off the light and decided to turn left. There was no turn signal and she slammed on her braked because a pedestrian started to walk in front of her. I in turn slammed on my braked, but not in time. My car sustained minimial damage ( two broken headlights, approx. $60) her car had a scratch on the bumper. Her car was a new Audi. I asked her not to report it and gave her my info and told her to get an estimate. She went to the Audi dealer and they want to put a new bumper on. $1000. It was a very minor scratch and no structural damage what so ever. Both of us were very surprised at the cost. Should I report it, pay her, ask her to get another estimate?

I would have her get a second estimate. A body shop may be able to buff out a scratch were as the dealer wants to make money by putting on a whole new bumper.
