I was rear-ended in a car accident and The person who hit me's insurance sent me a check for the damages. Do i have to get my car fixed? i keep getting calls from the insurance company asking me for proof that I had my car fixed. I live in california

Unless the car is not paid off, you have no obligation to fix your car or talk to another party's insurance company. Maybe they are fishing for information, such as whether you are going to sue their insured for bodily injury.

No. You do not have to get your car fixed. The negligent party owes you damages for the cost of repair. It is up to you to decide what to do with the money.
