Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Received a Request for Entry of Default for an accident that happened over a year ago. Daughter driving, husband on title. Found our insurance lapsed due to late payment. Went to court & daughter found "not guilty". What does this mean and what do we do?

You should consult with an experienced personal injury attorney right away. To assist you in setting aside the default for helping you settle the case.
A Request to Enter Default means you've been sued; and you blew off the summons and complaint you received instead of responding to it. Whether your insurance was validly canceled is a more complicated question than you might think and requires that you bring the paperwork to an attorney. I have no idea what you mean by "Went to court and daughter found 'not guilty.'" Unless you want to pay a large judgment or file for bankruptcy, you had better have an attorney file a motion for relief from default IMMEDIATELY and then defend the case.
