In all seriousness he needs to figure out how to resolve his issues with his neighbor in a more peaceful manner. If whatever set them off isn't resolved it will happen again. If your relative was the aggressor then he needs to make amends, and even then he could still go to jail. I would tell him to stay away from him and wait until the criminal proceeding blow over if there are any and then I would see if there was a community mediation agency to help them resolve their issues short of another fight.
