Settlement issue
What can I do about getting my money from a insurance co. that has stop payment on a check issued to me. I fired my attorney and she called afterwards and had the Ins. co. stop payment.

Need more information. Your attorney may have a valid lien, have notified the insurance company and they refuse to issue check without your lawyer's name on the check. That's the only thing I can think of. If so, have the insurance company issue the check with both names, and call the county bar association and tell them you want to arbitrate a fee dispute. Then submit the issue to arbitration. The attorney is required to submit to arbitration if you demand it.
