Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

From a shopping center. I own a commercial building with parking area. There is a pothole on driving road between other building. I got call from a lady that her car was damaged when she drove over the pothole and she wants me to pay for the damage of her car. Can you please advise what should I do?

You should have a commercial insurance policy. Assuming you do, call your insurance company. They will probably deny the claim but you won't have to get involved. If you don't have a commercial insurance policy you risk getting sued over a lot more than car damage. Suppose an elderly lady trips in your parking lot on what she claims is a hole in the lot (or she slips on some oil that arguably was there for a long period of time) and she falls and breaks her hip and runs up $200,000 in medical bills and then gets a lawyer to sue you.
