Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
My sister was killed in the US 35 years ago at a parachute club when none of her parachutes opened. My brother had to tell our parents and 15 years ago he too died - of cancer. We didn't get any money from his estate (or very little) as it was found that his lawyer had been stealing it and he then killed himself. My other sister died 3 years ago, of cancer. My parents are long dead. I will always believe that the grief and shock contributed to my brother & sisters cancers though this was not be supported by doctors of course.
I could not take legal action while all these family members were alive. Am I now much too late? I never saw the report on my sister's parachuting accident,my father destroyed it.

Yes, Far far too late with respect to your sister's parachute claim. Is the same club even around anymore? Is the same insurer still in business? Did the club have insurance? The statute of limitations and likely of repose will certainly bar such an action, even if your sister was a minor at the time of her death. Sorry for your troubles.
