Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Slip & Fall

I slipped and fell in a depression on a city sidewalk and incurred medical bills. This injury has disabled me since September 1998. They have since fixed the sidewalk but I took pictures of the site before that time. What steps should I take to have my medical bills reimbursed.

Re: Slip & Fall

You need to file a governmental claim within six months

from the date of the accident. You can obtain one

from the city. It will be turned down and you will

be sent a letter. You then have six months from

the date of that letter to file a lawsuit against

the city. I have handled these matters before.

If you have not yet found an attorney who is willing

to sue the city I would be happy to help. I can

handle it on a contingency basis, but you would

need to pay for the filing fee up front. Even

though I am in San Luis Obispo, I handle many out-of-town

cases mainly over the phone, fax and internet.

Please give me a call so we can get things rolling.

If you are uncomfortable dealing with a lawyer over

the phone I urge you to seek an experienced lawyer

in your area immediately or you may loose your right

to be compensated if an action is not filed in

a timely matter.

Re: Slip & Fall

See a lawyer immediately, as there are strict time limits in which a claim against a City must be filed, and

you may have missed it! Also, the responsibility for the sidewalk may be the homeowner's as well.
