Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I slipped and feel on some water at Vons 2 months ago. I was 36 weeks pregnant. I went to the hospital to have the baby monitored and was released after a couple hours. I had some pain in my wrist and hip/lower back. I was seen about 1 1/2 weeks later because my wrist still hurt and was still enflamed. I filed an incident report with vons later in the day of the fall. they sent a private investigator to my house to get a recorded staetment from me. I am now waiting to hear from the adjuster on the case. I am wondering how much money i could possible be offered. or how much i should try to get?... I still have pain in my wrist but can function fine.

In response to your question, "how much money should I try to get," it would be impossible to answer as there are many factors involved in slip and fall cases. If you would like a free consultation, you can reach my office at 877.505.INJURY.

The value of a personal injury case depends entirely on the nature of the injury. Factors such as whose fault the accident was (and whether you can prove it) can cut the value down by percentages, but the first thing to know is still "what is the injury"? You say you hurt your wrist. Well, you have to be more specific: was it a sprain? A torn ligament? A fracture? Depending on your answer, the case could be anywhere from five to fifty thousand dollars. That's why insurance companies push hard to settle soon, before a lawyer gets involved, and before a full investigation is made concerning the injury. If you settle for the value of a sprain, and then later find a torn ligament-- that's too bad for you!
