Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I slipped and fell down some outside stairs at a ladies house that were kinds wet/damp from the previous nights rain. This slip was at about 10am and when I fell it caused me to BREAK my fibula bone clean in two! The stairs appear safe and( handrails, level, correct spacing, etc) they are made of bricks. They don't have a rough texture it's actually a little smooth. The front edge or leading edge has a radius edge. As I was walking down from the top, as I got to the second step down my left foot slipped on the curved bull nose type edge of the brick partly due to the damp conditions and I heard two pops.
