My son tried to guide someone into their garage around a parked U-Haul truck. That person came into contact with their own garage and scratched their car. They have hired a lawyer demanding money or they will seek litigation. Do they have a case?

Who are they demanding money from your son? If so there is precedent that someone guiding or directing some one else driving a motor vehicle and it can be established that the person providing the direction was negligent in doing so then the answer is a qualified yes.There are too many other factors involved to answer your question definitively.
