Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

My son's private school principal grabbed him by the collar, he then tripped and fell against the wall as a result of losing his balance when she grabbed him. Her reason to grab him was simply because he was heating his food in the microwave and the principal wanted a girl to go ahead of him. I have a witness name and statement who saw the entire event.

My son was so emotionally distraught all evening (it was the 2nd time this principal grabbed him; she also put bruises on another boy Burt and there were other reports of physical abuse to other children) that he insisted I do something this time and call the police. The next morning I called the police and filed a report. The police, however, wimped out all because one girl in the class disputed my son's story since she was a relative of the principal and was protecting her. The police officer also severely intimidated my 12 year old son that he would take him to jail if any part of my son's story was inaccurate. The police officer persuaded my son to say that maybe it was his fault that he fell against the wall so that the officer wouldn't take him to jail. To add insult to injury, the school board then suspended our son with only a couple of weeks left of school to finish the year. He grades have plummeted ever since.

Long story short, it has been ~1 year and my son has been emotionally and academically damaged. His attitude about school and life in general has changed drastically and he is not the same innocent child who always did his homework. He now rebels against schools, teachers and society which he never did before; also mom and dad.

I need an excellent attorney to represent my son in a lawsuit against this principal and school owner. The principal knows that she is guilty and moved out of California only 3 weeks after the incident (after 30+ years of living here) to Florida because of her guilt even though the police did nothing. She and her husband owned the private school which in 2008 was appraised at $14+ million.

My son needs professional therapy to undo this emotional and mental damage by this principal and school.

Thanks. Regards, Gloria
