Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Stabbed at a residence is homeowner liable

I was stabbed at a friends house by a relative of said friend. I was then taken by friends boyfriend to hospital. The police asked me where it happened and i lied saying it happened around the corner from my friends house. However I was told later that the police arrested the girl and recovered the knife at the home where it happened. Can I sue the homeowner where my friend rents for the stabbing?

First of all lying to the Police is never a good idea and may not look good in a civil suit.

You can sue, however most insurance policies will not cover intentional torts such as this.
