Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

STD transmission

I understand that it is a misdemeanor to knowingly transmit an STD to someone, and/or infect someone, without disclosing the diganosis to the victim. My ex-boyfriend exposed me to an STD without telling me he had it, and now I am being tested. If I turn out positive I want to possibly pursue legal action. What is the best legal action to take? I can prove he knew he was infected long before he met me, and I can also prove I wouldn't have contracted it from anyone else.

Re: STD transmission

From the facts given, your best civil cause of action would be "battery" if specific intent can be shown/proven. For further legal assistance, contact us directly.

I hope your ex has assets because I believe that you may have a pretty good civil lawsuit against him should you test positive. Contact my office ASAP to discuss. 818.385.0520
