Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

can I sue my father for childhood phyical and sexual abuse that has left me and my sisiters diabled. It has been 35 years. I just discovered that my neck was broken before the age of twelve and am suffering severe spinal stenosis. My sister has suffered 2 strokes, she is 49. We have not said anything because we were afraid for our lives, still are.

A statutory delayed discovery rule also applies to actions for �childhood sexual abuse�: Ordinarily, the action must be brought no later than three years after a person discovers or reasonably should have discovered that psychological injury or illness occurring after the age of majority, age 18 currently, (but was possibly age 21 back then) was caused by the sexual abuse or within eight years of age of majority if later.
