Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
I sued a California University, the Case has been settled, I and the other Party have signed the settlement agreement; the amount is 13,750 which was the settling amount; My attorney filled out a declaration for something.I don't know...for what..I keep calling him, but he is not returning my calls.
The settlement was reached the begining of August 2010.
Please advise.

Call his secretary to see if the Settlment check has come in yet. It normally takes 10-15 working days once the defendant receives the settlement paperwork. If it had been a trial, your attorney might have filed a Declaration as to recoverable costs but is a settlement the paties sign the settlement document and the plaintiff files a dismissal with prejudice dismissing the suit.Write your attorney asking about the status of the case. If suit was filed, look at the court web site to see what paperwork has been filed with the court.
