Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Last sunday a man ran his truck into the restaruant where i work. He broke the gas pipes so now I'm out of work for a least a few weeks 'til is repaired. Do I get compensation for these few weeks I'll be out or work?

Get a copy of the police report. Take the driver to small claims court for your lost wages. His auto insurance company should pay any court judgment in your favor. Act promptly, beware of legal time limits.

Yes as long as you can prove that you indeed lost some wages so your employer will have to cooperate as I am sure he will since his business is also out of action.A small claims action is not immediately necessary but the insurance carrier might force your hand if they will not compensate you adequately.

You might also check with your employer as to what items of loss his insurance covers. Perhaps they will pay for any wages paid to employees who could not work because of the car damage. That is a bit of a long shot but it also takes little time to find out.
