Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
My unregistered (planned non operation certified) car was parking on the street when a truck ran into it and totalled it. The car was worth $5000.
He has insurance. What kind of compensation could I get and what are my options?

You are entitled to the FMV of the vehicle.Your options are to accept what they offer or negotiate for a higher settlement or take the other driver to small claims if you cant settle or file a case in Municipal court if you cant settle.I would not recommend the last option as it is too costly and takes too long.
