Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Venue for suing State of California

If I was injured in a county that does

not have an Attorney General's office

and I sue the State (CHP) for injury

where would the suit be filed? I also

live in another county that does not

have an Attorney General's office.

Assuming you are doing everything else correctly (claim presented and denied, etc.) you can file in any county where the AG has an office -- not just LA, SF, or Sacramento but also places like Fresno where the AG has a tiny branch office.

Before getting to venue, have you complied with the governmental claim procdure within 180 days of the loss/injury? Has the claim been denied? Are you within six months of the denial?
