Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Venue for suing State of California
If I was injured in a county that does
not have an Attorney General's office
and I sue the State (CHP) for injury
where would the suit be filed? I also
live in another county that does not
have an Attorney General's office.

Assuming you are doing everything else correctly (claim presented and denied, etc.) you can file in any county where the AG has an office -- not just LA, SF, or Sacramento but also places like Fresno where the AG has a tiny branch office.

Before getting to venue, have you complied with the governmental claim procdure within 180 days of the loss/injury? Has the claim been denied? Are you within six months of the denial?
