Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

waiver for kids

To sign my kids up for city recreation programs or city preschool I have to sign waiver stating if my kids are injured or killed the city is not responsible. Can't sign up without signing this, is there any way I can get around signing this?

Re: waiver for kids

Don't worry about it. If anything happens to the kids due to the negligence of th city or its personnel the city is liable. One cannot waive in advance a claim for personal injury due to negligence. It is against public policy. That being said, these waivers are routinely insisted upon by government and private groups alike.
