Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

We had our washer leak that soaked the majority of our front room. It took our landlord 11 days to repair the problem and they didnt reppair it properly. The left moldy dry wall up and also left the gross carpet and only replaced the pad. We tested the dry wall they left up as well as the carpet and it tested positive for black mold. We have since moved out and now they are coming after us for rent. Also there is not any heat in our place what so ever and no ventilation in the bathroom. Am i covered under Civil Code 1942?

Count the code violations. No heat is a big problem.

Leak, mold, wet carpet, etc. are not enough though.
