Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
My wife was in a car accident, she was hit from behind, taken to hospital by ambulance, her injuries were minor, but the car was totalled, she got 8600.00 for her car, and the hospital bills , and time off add up to 5000.00, they are trying to give her 8000.00, for bills, time off, pain and suffering, ect, as a settlement. I thought it would be more, am I right or wrong?

Without evaluating her case it is impossible to answer your question. Your wife / you, should consult with a lawyer before accepting any such offers.
I agree with Mr. Tasjian that you need to consult with an attorney and go over the details. I can say, however, that if her out of pocket was $13,600 total for car, lost wages and medical expenses, then normal pain and suffering awards would usually be substantially more than the $3,000 it sounds like they are including.
