Legal Question in Product Liability in California

Death of child due to Accutane

June 7 2002 my son shot himself shortly after being on the medication Accutane. There have been a number of such cases with the manufacturer claiming there is no proof, but acknowledging that the product has potential harmful suicidal side effects. We wish to make the company liable for the haertbreak it has caused many people. Teen suicides from this drug are numerous. Due to procrastination on the part of a law firm that first had us sign a contract and then declined the case with no explanation I only have one month left to file a case in California agaist the HMO for prescribing this dangerous medication haphazardly or the manufacturer for liability. I do not wish my sons death to go unavenged or without preventing others to suffer this tragedy. My question is what are the procedures and locations for bringing an action myself if I am unable to find a willing law firm that will go against such a giant pharmaceutical company,located in New Jersey, within the statute of limitations.
