Legal Question in Product Liability in California
I had a lift kit installed on my truck and now the whole coil spring and shock mounting has seperated from my frame. I almost got killed in the accident! who is to blame?

1. The other driver.
2. The manufacturer of the lift kit.
3. Whoever sold you the lift kit.
4. Whoever installed the lift kit.
5. Caltrans, or whatever public agency owns the road.
6. Your employer (if you were on the job) under workers' comp.
In other words, sue everyone against whom you have a non-frivolous claim and let the court sort it out. Watch out for legal time limits.

You are asking a mechanical question, not a legal one. Who's to blame under the law is who is responsible for the failure of the device. That's a question of fact, not law.
