Legal Question in Product Liability in California
I'm not sure if my question was read wrong, so I will repost. My boyfriend was sitting in a chair that was actually rented from a party supplies place, and it broke underneath him. We are not trying to sue the person who rented the chairs, but rather the company it was rented from and the manufacturers of the chair. This would be a product liability case. Do we have a case? We have proof of the broken chair in pictures. And what would typically be the steps to approach a situation like this? He was not physically injured but his pride got hurt from falling and being embarassed.

Yes, you might have a case for products liability. However, damages might not be very much if only pride was involved and not actual physical injuries.
