Legal Question in Product Liability in California
My sister purchased & consumed (some) chorizo from a major food chain. She became a little ill afterward,& the next day upon further inspection of this product (mexican sausage) she found a whole carcas of a rat/mouse. Is this something that would interest a lawyer for some kind of court action?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Yes. Be sure to save the sausage and rat/mouse-enclose it in an airtight container and freeze it. Take pictures of it for evidence. Contact an attorney immediately. Was a report written up by the major food chain? Speak with an attorney before you give any further information to the food chain. Also save the packaging, so you have proof of the maker and distributor. Now that you know what was in the chorizo, have your sister return to her health care provider or emergency room to determine whether other tests or treatment is needed.
